Swooshization of Logos
Aug 15, 2000 -- The latest oversold Internet-era trend, according to Fortune magazine's July 24 issue, is the proliferation of "swooshes" -- the rings of Saturn -- that adorn so many corporate logos. The practice has become so widespread that it has inspired Web sites filled with countless examples.
In the article, "I Want a Unique Logo -- Just Like Theirs," Fortune quotes a creative director who sees this trend as a "total lemming thing."
Lemmings try to swim bodies of water that are too deep and may drown in great numbers.
Dare to be a zebra.
